The last decade of the 20th century was marked by the fight for women liberation. The goal has been achieved, but what are the consequences? Are we happy.
Undoubtedly before women had been discriminated at working place as well as at home. A man was the head of the family and a woman was almost treated as a servant, who only took care for children and him. It was thought that she was not able to reconcile career with the family responsibilities. Thanks to the movement born in '90s women became self-conscious and at the end of the 'battle' they stood by the men on the podium, they were finally treated equally.
On the other hand the new position they gained has changed their plans for future and their priorities in life. Now they want to devote all their time to professional career. They find out they don't want to lead a 'normal' family life. They think they don't need it, because it wouldn't give them any tangible profits. They are afraid , at the same time, that they will be reduced to the role of a mother again.
As a result there are more and more women who have their first child at the age of 40 or more. After years dedicated to establishing social status, they realise that they have lost something, probably the most important experience in every womans life - the maternity.
Mother women should be aware of their value and should find balance between the roles played in life.
